Our rank

Hey crew,

Just out of curiosity, I took a look at the list of MSN groups of the "Boating" category.  In no time at all, we've gone from Kruez's idea for a well maintained source of information to Number 9 on a list of 906 groups.

IMHO the person most responsible for this is our dedicated manager who deserves a round of applause and an extra ration of grog.  WELL DONE, Kruez.  I'm proud to be an associate of yours.

Pax,
Rick

  1. I second that opinion. PK, my hat's off to you. You've done a terrific job getting this group off to a rip-roaring life of it's own. I know of the hours you have spent shaping these empty pages into a daily 'looking forward to checking it out' zone. Well done.   Huzzah- Huzzah - Huzzah !!!   Cheers and salutations to all, PS1

  2. Well thanks fellas, I really appreciate the praise, "and the grog rations". Trying to think of something witty to say here. I will have to go back and read some of Prairie Schooners posts for ideas. He with the lightning wit we all adore so much. "Build it and they will come" is a quote I have associated with the Indy 500 racetrack. However, my wife contends that the origin of the phrase comes from the movie "Field of Dreams" when Kevin Costner’s character built a state-of-the-art baseball stadium in his cornfield in the hope that the best players of all time would fill it, drawing customers from all around. The Indy 500 too was built in the middle of cornfields. I still contend that the phrase was born long before the movie. Nevertheless, I borrowed that phrase for the justification of putting this site together. In hope that boat builders would fill it, drawing in people from all around the world with common interest in the wood boats we all enjoy so much. I couldn’t be more pleased with the way "Wooden Boat Builder" has evolved over the past two months. Fact is, I couldn’t continue to do it without the help of people like SpiritusSolus, PrairieSchooner, and CanalBoat (your site managers) and all the members. You guys are great. I too am proud to be associated with this community of "good people". You are the reason this site will attract so many more good people in the coming year. Happy Boating, Kruez PS: I just checked the rank, although this is a fluctuating scale, we are at number 8 today. Not bad for a group that as of yesterday (March 19th 2004) is two months old.
