  1. Hi folks hope this uploads, My first real longish trip,Took the Grawl to Milorchy bay Loch Lomond [ it's great they have a slipway and rangers to help keep it safe and it's free] found the vessel to be very stable also easier to steer with feet, waist and weight than with stroke of paddle, Tried to sink the paddle it floated and much better tries to sink the canoe [at the shore] this also floated when it was full of water yippee!!, the back rest could be thicker and taller for my week back, and maybe it or the foot rest adjustable to suit other crew other than that very very very pleased, happy builder sailor captain. bogsdolics

  2. Hey Bogs, looks great and what a great paddling area.  I have a thing about unstability (no not mental) and thats why you'd never catch me in  a willow leaf like that.  I have freinds who try to get me to kayak but these old hips wouldn't tolerate sitting like that for more than 1/2 an hour without having to shift and stretch.   Would you ever consider putting a removable spray deck on, and how do you think it would perform in fast water (like on rivers)?   Andy

  3. I love the little boat, reminds me of my "We Lassie". 4" free board is more than enough,, LOL Have ya tried kneeling and a single blade? Half the paddle twice the paddler. Andy I am in the Twin City areaand know what yer talkin about moving water, but I think a slite breeze IS moving water for this little gem. Sure wish I had all my half done projects done so I could consider building one.   Kent

  4. Hi Andy Yes Loch Lomond beautiful, thats where Richard Branston practiced with his boat for his Atlantic crossing attempt.  I was a bit unsure of the stability so never ventured far from the shore just incase, My back also will not take to much,so might put in better seat,If I build another one might change things like scalfing the joints adding foot rest and seat as I put the sides on and putting a spry deck, defenatey a cruse ship I think not for rivers not with me at the helm don't know if its mobile enough,I am definately not!! bogsdolics.

  5. Hi Wolf I have a single blade of sort's it's the plastice blade Ifound and used to mould the paddle on I am currently fitting a shaft and will give it I try,Will it be more unstable if kneeling? Also don't know if I would use it on one side only or swap sides? When using the double paddle as you lift one side to lower the other water drips in not a problem with the wet suit. Some of the water was getting moved with those pesky jetski's, but they was also a slight breeze but not a problem. This was my first build and quite easy comapred to the 8ft rowing boat I am curently working on, then the big one the sailing boat! I hope? bogsdolics.

  6. Unconvinced guys... I'll stick with my canoe, at least its bigger than me!   The daysailer is on hold while this heat lasts.  I don't have ac in my greenhouse/flower shop so while its been 93 degrees outside, its been 120 deg. inside the greenhouse even with my 3 big wall fans running full blast.   Andy
