Egret build update. Sail test fit.

Anyone out there following I uploaded some new pics of the egret.   The pics are of the first fully rigged sprit sail test fit in my backyard.  Learning experience : I think the word is furl the sail before you step the mast from out side the boat.  Tried to step it standing alongside the boat with the sail fully extended... got away from me while raising the bottom of the mast over the shear of the boat.  I'll never do that again.

Pocket Galley

The seats in standard driving position.

Here's my little galley on the boat I'm finishing. The whole thing is tucked beneath the pilothouse seats.

The pictures are best viewed in order...

NEED HELP

I'm looking for information on fabric or light canvas covering on the plywood interior walls of my canal boat. I know this was a common pratice for decks in years gone by but the materials used then probably won't work for me. Since getting a good paint job on plywood is pretty hard to do since the quality of wood is so poor I thought covering the wood would allow for a better finish and cover up the minor flaws.

Any one with any thoughts I'd sure like to hear from you.

TOM'S TUG

Tom,

I was just looking over your pictures on your web site. You are really coming along and doing a very first class job. When do you plan to launch? This is the first time I've taken the time to check out what some others are doing. Keep up the good work and keep me posted of your efforts.

17ft strip kayak

Hi last year I bought a book about sea kayaks built in strip planking form, and decided that was my next project, after many hours on the internet I went with the default kayak on http://www.blueheronkayaks.com/kayak/index.html

foundry site ,here's is a link to a guy who is way a head of me in the build,

http://www.blueheronkayaks.com/kayak/index.html

so far I have bought a small table saw located the cedar wood for the strips [warning this will be a long slow build] not yet purchased!,but I have bought 1 of 8"x4" 18mm ply for the strongback and a sheet of 18mm MDF for the forms,

the book calls for 1/2" ply but some builders complain that its to flexible when turning over,
