Season's Greetings...

Just wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and/or Happy Holidays...
Been kindof quiet around here - I am sure everyone is very busy on their projects lol...

  1. Hi Andy. Well, Christmas and cold weather have slowed my progress on the Flapjack to a slow crawl (plus the fact that I have two sons on leave from the Army and home for the holidays. Priorities you know!). I have managed to figure out how to post some pix. Now it is just a mater of taking some descent ones to put up. I have managed to get the centerboard case installed and I have made some preliminary measurements for the thwart cleats. I also made a rather large (for me anyway) investment in some ¾” Mahogany. I want to do a better job of photo documentation on my next project as I slowly get drawn into the twenty-first century. I will get a few pix up after the holidays. I hope everyone else is doing well and will all be on the water in a few months.   By for now,   Winks

  2. Winks,   I know what you mean about timelining with photos.  I keep thinking, gee I should shoot every step of the building process but I never seem to follow through.  So I tend to snap a picture every once in a while with no cohesiveness....   p.s.  I know what you mean about plywood costs  -  its almost as expensive as buying clear lumber (sometimes more !).  I have been fortunate in that much of the lumber materials I have used have been recycled from other items - but the plywood did COST!

  3. I added some pictures of Sam Devlin's Godzilli 16 tug boat. I had a great morning at the shop and met Joel Mill and the crew, Sam is in Mexico for the winter. Tough life!  It's a really nice shop, right by the water in the South Sound near Olympia, Washington.  The building with the red roof is the shop. Thanks for making one of my pictures 'Pic of the Month'! Of the hundreds of shots of the project, it's my favorite.   I've been really pushing on the project. It's a lot easier to do when the weather is cold and rainy and I'm not quite so tempted by the lakes and Sound. Every weekend I spend now will translate directly to a weekend on the water this Fall. In theory anyway...   Have a nice New  Year and a productive winter!
