Kruez,
What has happened to your group? I hope every one didn't jump ship. Whay are you up to this summer? We are just about ready to start fiberglassing the outside of the hull. Interior work continues when I have some free time from the hull preping.

CB, I suspect its MSN. There have been some bugs in the system lately that they have been slow to repair. The process of the MSN passport is not very desirable either. I've thought of moving the site to a new host I have been slow to update and keep things fresh as well. If members have jumped ship and gone to another site... I'd like to know where. I am not aware of one that is as personal as we have stived to make this one. MSN Groups is a bit clunky and not as easy to interact as it should be. Working mostly, I used to teach and have the summers off. I've since been working from home doing freelance CAD drafting work. My business had gotten pretty slow and I have had to take a contract and go back to work. I'm working 8 hours a day there and continuing the freelance work in the evening. Busy Busy... It must be dificult to stay focused on such a large project. I don't know that I have the intestinal fortitude to accomplish such an arduous task as you. You are a mentor for us all. I still want to ride over and see you project sometime. Perhaps if you are glassing on a weekend I could come over and help out for a day... Kruez
ReplyDeleteKruez, I'm sure I could use the help. I have over 300 yards of cloth to put on the sides alone. Another 150 yards for the deck that will have to wait tell early next year I think. I will keep you posted but you are welcome to come over any time that suits you. We are only 4 miles north of the I-70 & I-75 interchange. CB
ReplyDeleteHey CB and Kruez, I check in almost every day to see if anyone has posted anything new - I myself am in a work mode right now with no real time for boat work - unfortunately. I just got promoted at my job and have had to dedicate a lot of time to that and the side jobs I do. My wife and I did manage to take yesterday off and drove up to Lake Superior ( Bayfield County) which is about an hour and half away. We like to hang out around the harbor and marina to drool over the yachts. It was a beautiful day although kindof hot (@ 85 deg.). A good sailing breeze - maybe about 5-8 knots. So, CB - keep up the great job - I have to say that you are about the most accomplished builder I have seen on this site and as Kruez says - you ARE an inspiration! Kruez, sounds like you are in the same "boat" I am - ah well, what doesn't happen today happens tomorrow... Andy
ReplyDeleteHi Andy & all. I too have been busy with non boatbuilding work. My environmental group the White River Watchers of Madison County ary getting ready to host our first riverfest. We have been improving our river for the past ten years (removed over 6000 tires plus an amazing array of other things) and are celebrating the beauty of our river. A couple years ago I built my first stitch & glue boat, a solo canoe which is a lot of fun on the rivers and creeks in this area. Thanks for having this group here. Bill
ReplyDeleteBill: All of the thanks go to Kruez! He put this thing together for all of us to enjoy... Congrats on your group - sounds like a labor of love and good luck on your festival... Andy
ReplyDeleteAwe Andy, It just wouldnt be the same with out ya... If we didnt have people like you, all this would never have happened. Pat youselves on the back for keeping the forum alive. See CB, we were not alone... Kruez
