Anyone know of a site with tutorials, including images, on lapstrake construction? Preferably on a mid-size scale. 19-25 ft. I'm trying my first, a small plywood dinghy, but love the lapstrke look. Hope to give one a try.

Thanks, The questions will eventually come. My 2 Sheet dinghy is going well, so I'll feel comfortable to move on. A quick question, Most tutorials I've seen show planks being attached squared, with screws, nails or rivets. Why isn't the top of each plank Scarffed? It seems it would be easier to seal and work. Hi Mark, The planks on a clinker built boat I build have the top of each plank planed off at an angle so that the next plank lays on the formers flat and when the plank is bend round it lays on the previous plank fair, in this way there is no tension in the joint. I hope that answer your question. Regards Simon
