Catspaw Dinghy

Here is some pictures of the Catspaw that I'm working on.  Plans from Woodenboat Publications.

This will get a centerboard, and sail rig.  65 Sq ft sprit sail.

This has an white oak keel, white oak transom, white oak ribs, white cedar planking.  It will be tranditionally caulked, no glue or epoxy.

  1. Abbettjc,   You should create a new photo album and upload "all" your pics there. Let MSN resize them to 600x600 so they will use less storage. We could then put them in order and I can create a follow-the-build page for you. Doesn't that sound like fun? What do you think sir.   -Kruez-

  4. I'll see what I can do.  I've been kinda busy with the new kid.  I've got 10 out of 18 planks on now.  It's taking me about 4-5 hours a plank.  Add that one up, it's taking a while.  I get a few hours on a Saturday here and there.  Between all the woodworking projects the wife wants, the family wants, and those jobs you just can't turn down, like the 50 dollars each to make 2 ft replacement spindles..   I've been busy.  The positive thing is that I'm going back to woodenboat school in Brooklyn Maine (WoodenBoat Magazine's Schoot).  I'm taking another class with Greg - Lofting this time.  I lofted the catspaw last winter, it took a while because I had to figure it out as I went.  I made a few mistakes that set me back.   It will be nice to get some expert instruction.    I'll see what I can do about pictures.    -John
