  4. Hi Angletontom. The Weekend Skiff looks an ideal first time boat project infact the design is used in many schools across the States to get children interested in building things with their hands and using tools. Just go for it, you will be surprised how easy it will be and kicking yourself for not starting earlier. A few years ago a friend and I built a similar design 19 foot long, our own, at the Southampton Boat Show in 2 hrs 26 mins. That 146 minutes!...........Unpainted.   Jeff UK

  5. Hey Bounder,   Aren't you talking about the Beavens Skiff? Plans available through Alexandria Seaport Foundation? They are the group that started the "Family Boat Building" program/event that has apeared at so many boat shows the last few years. The weekend skiff is similar but it's the Beavens skiff that is being used by most of the charitable youth organizations.   After reviewing the Weekend Skiff I do agree with your assessment that it will be as easy as the Beavens that you and your buddy built at Southampton.   -Kruez-
