New projects on the go

Hi everyone,
At the moment I have a couple of big projects on the go, one is a rebuild of a James Silver Western Isles 37'6" TSDY build in 1948. She is in a poor state at the moment, but with a bit of time and money will be back to her beauiful original condition. When I get time I will put some photos on the site. The other projects are a couple of  small motor launchs in need a a bit of TLC.

We just bought a home in the mountains of Idyllwild, Ca. First time the home has been sold since the original owner built it in the early 1960s. In the garage we found a full dugout canoe suspended from the rafters. We don't canoe. We don't know anyone who canoes. We do know that it is an authentic dugout and a bit of a novelty. Do you know if any of your members would be interested in this? It's likely to hang there another 40 years...and that would be a sh

Hi all. Building Devlin's Godzilla 25

I added some build pictures of the progress so far. I've had a lot of fun building it, although I'm two months behind on my self-imposed schedule. Here's my blog address: http://boatbuild.wordpress.com/

I'm looking for pictures of other Godzilla's, either the 22 or the 25, other than the ones on Devlin's site. Anyone have some? Shots of other small tug-style boats would be appreciated too.

New Picture showing progress...

Just added a new picture to my photo album showing the interior 1/2 primed and about ready for paint.  On the interior I am going to use a good grade of exterior gloss house paint to save money.  I have been told by many people that they have used general house paints in their boats with no undue problems like peeling etc.

I will still be using marine paint on the exterior hull.  I have a friend who runs a lumber yard and will see if I can get a good price on some clear pine for the decking and seats.  Otherwise I may have to settle for "better" grade pine from the local yards.  this shoestring budget thing is for the birds...
